Missing Things

Poem By Somanathan Iyer

Body is there missing is the spirit
Eyes are there missing is the focus
Mind is there missing is the brain
Desires are there missing are the means
Lip is there to sip missing is the cup
Tree is there missing is its shade
Flower is there missing is its aroma
Strength is there missing is the sense
Goal is there missing is the path
Future is there missing are the plans
God is there missing is the devotion
Destiny is there missing is the wisdom!

Comments about Missing Things

very fine Somanathanji, thanks,
Love this poem where each line is a bit of wisdom in itself! Nicely done!

A Remedy In Frustration

God is there since ages and ages the human memory knows
Distress calls and despondent prayers pulled him always
To cater our needs, Answering some appearing in Form
Discharged He the duties towards devotees and believers

Moon! Oh Moon!

Dark under the trees and bright under the skies
Sparkling over the waters and shining over the hills
Intoxicating many and infuriating some
Marking silver lines around the clouds

Who Is Responsible?

Paradise is a paradox by any means
Hell is in hyper action by all means
It is the earth that contains the both
Cushioned in comforts paradise it is for some

A Trip To Tirumala

Long ago when I was in my teens
Joined by my brother and cousins
Set off to the holy shrine Tirupati
The abode of Lord Sri Venkatewara

Dreams Are Free And Colorful Too

Alone I am with nothing left to atone
Invaded by ill luck wading through my times
Heaven is this world when money is there
Hell is the same when nothing could be afforded

Journey Of Life

The moment after birth starts the journey of life
Everyone has a road in tune with their deeds
An engineer with no par in excellence
God laid our roads marking our joys and jolts
