Mississippi Limerick

On the raft down the Mississippi
were the wife and her husband Hippie.
When they brought back the melons
from the striped, shackled felons
they soon sank and the water was nippy.

But they had, for the voyage, prepared
and that is why both of them fared
rather well in the end
and this limerick was penned
so the story could truly be shared.

solly, no speek engeleese, only Chinese, but velly good poem, I thinkie?
getting melons from felons...now I'll have to see that, Herbert! (not that I don't believe you!) : -) I saw the llamas eatin' their pajamas, too!
I like this one almost as much as like the longer version....good write!
This is a great 'short-version' of your longer poem. I think this is an excellent way to shorten it, although the longer one is good too. Sincerely, Mary
