Mistitled

Poem By bob barci

I wanted to write a poem
but couldn’t think of anything to write about.
I kept coming up blank.
What’s a writer to do
when he or she is at a loss for subject mater?
I think it’s easy.
You write about that -
not being able to think of something to write about.
Oh sure - there’s always something
you can probably write about -
but why force yourself on a subject
you’re not really into at the time?
I never really care for the poems
I forced myself to write.
They always seem to be missing something that the others have.
Can’t quite figure out what though.
All I know is
I really want to write
as I’m in an extremely poetic mood.
So why is my subject matter on vacation?

I wasn’t worried about your one day hospital stay.

With all this free time I’ve got
why can’t I think of a poem?
As usual, I keep coming up blank.
Why is that?

I,
I came through that door,
And how,
How was to know
