Morning After The Drought

I open the windows
just in time when the day breaks
to meet the sun in tune
with the strength from deep sleep.

I open the window
and joyfully meet the rain, the rain
indeed after such a long drought.

Trees and grasses are reborn
and the parched ground
is saved from long thirst.
Dirty faced children are
once again cleansed.

I must go down to feel the rain.
