Mortar And Pestle
You have a mortar, I have a pestle
by Frank Adie
You need me and I need you
Your mortar can't do much without my pestle
And my pestle without your mortar too.
Whenever I see you flaunting your mortar
I wonder what use is it without my pestle
It is only jointly that we can conquer
And if we must conquer, we must have to settle.
In a game of give and take
Both parties have equal stake
You scratch my back,
And I scratch your back.
It is a no victor no vanquish game
Where we give and take the same
Mortar and pestle is tit for tat
And it is consensually that we do the act.
