Most politicians never mean what they say
by Francis Duggan
About them they have an ambiguous way
To cling to power they will quite readily lie
Their three most important are me, myself and I
There are a few honest politicians people honest and sincere
They speak what they think and their thinking is clear
Yet it is with some sadness that one has to note
That the voters in large numbers for them never vote
And if ambiguity for politicians does seem to pay
Of the voting public then what does this say?
Most politicians far more cunning than wise
In fact some of them do believe their own lies
Light cannot shine through the dark shades of the soul
And their great lust for power is beyond their control.
