Ms. Paradox

Poem By Shawn Franklin

She was explicitly vague
And easily abstruse
Her profound superficiality
Was apparently hidden
Recklessly yet circumspect
In her sophisticated naivety
Apathetic and concerned…
She lived a divinely imperfect life
Filled with factual conjecture
And loving acrimony…
Like a defiled virgin
She was miserably happy
And virtuously wicked

Memories

I gather together
Old memories
Cold. Dusty. Forlorn
Light the fireplace
