My Companion Is Who He Is
My companion is Light, and it's a fine company,
by Naveed Akram
I remove my envy, as dawn breaks for the next day.
The gifts of enlightenment refuse mention and perusal,
Their lingering boxes shine from the diamonds and orbs.
I will absorb the light from the mountain that does not begin,
Its command is of ten lights, without decisions and arts.
My companion arrives and departs, staring at the fish in
The ocean, swimming freely and liberating even us men.
My Light is divine when the true powers are shown to souls,
An onlooker confesses his sin, and I see the lights shining on him;
His gift is wrapped by his own body, but signs alight,
And my commandment is exact, my commandment is sacred.
