My Days On Earth

Poem By DOMINIC PREMPEH

My yesterday
Wasted and gone
Will not come again
And I need not waste time
Reminiscing on it

My tomorrow
I’ve not seen or felt
Unknown
But with very high unprecedented hopes
It might never come

My today
That is mine for takes
I got to make hay
And go for the keeps
Because my tomorrow might never come

That is my life on earth
The wasted yesterday
The struggling today
And the high-hoping unknown tomorrow
Which might never come

(Feb.2006. Awoshie-Accra)

Cry!
And I will cry with you
Smile!
And I will giggle along

Confused Free Men

We sang the songs of old
Away from home
Our God-forsaken home

The Epitaph

“This is the woman
With whom life flourished
She was that woman
Without whom life perished”

Live And Let Live

Let the act of violence end
End with this short piece
And let us put a stop to this hatred
Even if it would not be with ease

Threats Of Old Age

To our feminine souls
The fear of a sagging breast out of rampant breastfeeding
That will not be enticing to man and babies, again
But a decorative non-juicy, earth appreciative fender

Do What You Want Do

Do what you want do, bro
Do what you want do
For whatever you do
People go talk
