My Dream

Poem By Hobert F. Herpin

Last night I dreamed of a heavenly place
And awoke with a smile upon my face.
I dreamed of a place, an enchanted land
"Where love and peace took full command.
There was no sorrow, no pain, no tears.
Where time was measured beyond the years.
I reveled at the beauty of this wonderful place
Where a warm smile shone from every face.
I prayed in my dream to stay in this land
I begged to dear God to understand.
Then a soft voice spoke to me from above
A voice overflowing with kindness and love.
"Love thy fellow man, and do not fear.
Believe in me, and I will lead you here."

Waiting

I waited a long time, and then I was born.
Then waited for clothes, my brother had worn.
All through my childhood, come early or late
For one reason or other, I just had to wait.

My China Doll To Stacy

With outstretched arms she comes running to me.
Chattering and squealing, and so full of glee.
A bundle of love all wrapped in her charms.
A delight to hold all this in my arms.
