My Grand Papa's Advice.

Never compete with a scorpion,
Since you will never be a champion,
Always good people are one in a million,
You can't stop a bullet nor run after a lion.

If you're thirst can't quench it with melon,
Nor you can't finish it forever with one gallon,
Be careful how you roll your dice talon,
Respect people's ideas as a royal balloon.

Lets call a spade a spade not a big spoon,
Life is so sweet but it fade to soon,
So play your cards well I tell you my son,
Since your thumb can hide you from hot sun.

Keep my words in mind as I do train,
Practice my things and much will gain,
Fight hard for good things comes with pain,
But don't loose morale and leave iron with stain.

An advice bristling with wisdom from definitely a sagacious granddad. I like the flow of the poem and the rhyme scheme. A lovely piece well articulated and nicely penned. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MZANSI AND THE BALLOT BOX.
