My Head Is Sometimes Light, But My Heart Is Always Heavy...

My head is sometimes light, but, my heart is always heavy...
My head, foolish as it is
Can sometimes be deceived into thinking
It is day when it is really night
But, my heart, it knows the real deal
It can never forget all the pain and
Suffering it's been made to feel
At least my head gets to think
For however short a time
A pleasant thought
Before, in the familiar pang of heartache it becomes caught
Trapped in a sticky web of lies and deceit
Brought back to reality where joylessness and despair meet
As conspirators, to make this my life from day to day...

A smile might occasionally be on my lips
But, it's only a disguise
The mirror is the one who sees the real me
As the ashen face stares back silently
Weighed down by a heart that is so very heavy...

A smile might occasionally be on my lips But, it's only a disguise The mirror is the one who sees the real me As the ashen face stares back silently Weighed down by a heart that is so very heavy... Many people are blind sighted by this realiziation Very well done in describing the truth
