My Mother Promised

Poem By Taher Shemaly

Far there in the mid of the green fields
where I used to live in simple and ease
when mother used to take care of me
and my grandpa with fishes he used to seize
lived togather in quiet and peace

my grandpa told me once
son don't ever try to mend
the broken heart cos' no use
life goes on and you must bend
and this is life is just a blend

I remembered that when I first knew love
for after the fights I had to go on
with my broken heart I had to live
and cure myself by my own alone
and what granpa said had been done

then my mother told me for some reason
for life we have to go after and leave my home
there beyond those green hills and that ocean
she promised a better life awaits to roam
so we moved after to my new home

no green fields here just some streets
and for the hills buildings were placed
no clovers to chase after nor roses
and in it's place the broken heart stayed
still didn't see what mother promised

I had fame and I had money
I have everything here sweetened
I had everything mother told me about
but the broken heart still not mended
the broken heart still not mended

Sad And Lonely

As I started sipping
my daily lovely coffee
A race of memories just began in my mind
of old days, the hard and the easy

After You

Let the sorrow nest upon this heart
Let the sad moments take this tired mind
How horrible it is to be in senseless doubt
That can come to me from the hind

In Heaven

close your eyes
rest this heart
of those tiresom days and nights
have a smile

Can'T Get Up

in the darkness calling back
the strips of memory that are fading
my eyes full of tears, seem black
and my heart you kept awaiting

Spreaded the petals over
as I walked without a cover
and happiness couldn't catch over
my heart the one flying in Zurich

Ruins Of Babel (Babylon)

over the ruins of Babel stood I
in grief with memories visiting by
sadness and happiness are lost now
beneath these broken walls' sky
