My Poems Have Become More Mediocre

MY POEMS HAVE BECOME MORE AND MORE MEDIOCRE

My poems have become more and more mediocre
More and more repetitious
I should give up writing them
And hide behind my own silence

But I cannot
I do not
I have to write them
When I do not
Meaningless enters
And I wonder what I am doing in the world

This is perhaps no excuse

Perhaps it is a sin against Writing
To use it so for one own personal feeling of well-being

I do not know

My poems now are small confessions
They tell the feelings of my life

This is another one

Plain and clear and mediocre
I confess my life in little lines

And tell myself
And try to tell you
It is poetry.
