My Race

I'm at one with Nature, the sky and the trees,
When I am running, I create my own breeze.
I am one with the roadway, the path that I run
And yet I don't worship the sky or the sun.
I believe it is God who directs all my ways
Who orders my footsteps and structures my days.
I run to please Him, and when I am done,
I offer a prayer for this race that I run
That when I am finished and my life's work is done,
And I stand in heaven face to face with the Son,
He'll say, "I directed, but you ran - well done!"
