My True Love Mate

Poem By Carrie Everett

 It’s been two years, with hardly a whisper.
 Now, a big bang rocked me to my core.
 But, I am not a bird ready to soar.
 I feel sick, like I’ve been attacked by a boar.
 It just didn’t feel right.
 We were in too much of a fight.
 Even though you opened up
 You let me in
 I still don’t feel like a battle I did win…
 Maybe someday somebody will love me like I need.
 Until then, I’m going to silently plead
 To my God, for a love, for a friend
 And to let myself let us end.
 We are over, I can tell.
 I just don’t ring your bell…
 I am fine though. Oh, I will be okay.
 And maybe one of these sad, lonely days
 I will find my true love mate.
