My True Love Mate
Poem By Carrie Everett
It’s been two years, with hardly a whisper.
Now, a big bang rocked me to my core.
But, I am not a bird ready to soar.
I feel sick, like I’ve been attacked by a boar.
It just didn’t feel right.
We were in too much of a fight.
Even though you opened up
You let me in
I still don’t feel like a battle I did win…
Maybe someday somebody will love me like I need.
Until then, I’m going to silently plead
To my God, for a love, for a friend
And to let myself let us end.
We are over, I can tell.
I just don’t ring your bell…
I am fine though. Oh, I will be okay.
And maybe one of these sad, lonely days
I will find my true love mate.
