Naked As Rain

my sole meek wish was
to be naked as the rain
to be eloquent as the rose

as it is with living things
to join with the dust
to speak like the storm

this was so little to ask
the quiet peace of time
the sweet tang of autumn

I conspired with denial
and the oak's wisdom
to find my fragile self

I have abandoned wishes
I touch the humble soul
and walk the first forest

I will live forever hidden
with seasons and waters
in earth's lush monument

Introspection is superb and full of spiritual feelings and self -discovery.
I have abandoned wishes I touch the humble soul and walk the first forest I will live forever hidden with seasons and waters in earth's lush monument Beautiful lines from this lovely poem. Rain brings us back our childhood at times, urging us to roam naked under it..it's quite a platonic feeling. Thanks poet for the beautiful and love bathed poem. 10++ for the sharing. Subhas
Brilliant write Barry, a perfect gem beautifully written with such a delicate touch of your words that linger in my mind!
A beautiful poem that makes one feel beautiful while they read it. I think we've all wished to be one with the amazing simple wonders of the world. A sole meek wish to be as naked as the rain? Not so meek really. :) Wonderful poem.
I will live forever hidden with seasons and waters in earth's lush monument .. nice n smooth reading. thanx
