New Day

I turn into a monster with non-human traits
I alter my mind until I can’t think straight
Every day I tell myself that things will change or get better
And every night I scale the terrain but I only get wetter

I thought that my friends could pick me up and help me
Now I should rely on family to help me see
To open my eyes to a brighter tomorrow
Instead of a world that is full of such sorrow

So I take my deep breathes and try to be strong
That life wasn’t bound to last too long
