New Life

Poem By michaeline coulter

They cry and fuss and wiggle around
You can't wait to show them off downtown
Nine months of waiting and now you can see
What has become from you and me
A new life we made what a wonderful burden
We will always be there when they are hurting
So soft and tiny they make little fists
We shower them with love, we give them gifts
Allpink and glowing and wriggling their toes
Where life will take them nobody knows
We lay down and rest trying to get some sleep
But we have to go in and take another peek
All curled up and nestled in their bed
They hear us come in and start to move their head
They start to pull up and stand on their own
Just look at the wonderful seed that we have sown
Falling and walking they learn on their own
We teach all we can, then they are grown
They always do what they need to do
When they were small we remember kissing their boo boo's
Their eyes how beauttiful and curiuos they are
And to you they will always be your shining star
