Night's Pleasures

With the fright of the night
And the gray of the day
The cold breeze whispers in our ear
Giving us a chill of fear
The dead's sweet song
Helps us wrong the right
The black sky
Is as starless as I
The murder of crows crow
The sea of devils dance
We mock the dead as we pass
With footsteps as fragile as glass
Past the graves of stone
We walk alone
We come upon a single grave
Engraved with a name
The night becomes still
The silence so shrill
That it seems to scream
The hurt we can no longer feel
For we are lost
In the world of gain and loss
Lets watch the sea of silver stars
As they appear to the night
And remember how it was once a beautiful sight
