No One Has Shed A Teardrop

Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

I was once told what I did was not correct.
I could do it another way,
And make it better yet.
But my need to express...
Was not seeking to impress.
I have no desire to be perfect!
Or have it defined,
To become suitable for contest.
Or to please those of that kind of mind!
My explorations I observe,
Do not waste time...
Since from me they are purged.
And if they do not fit,
What others claim is legit!
So be it.
They belong to me.
This path I walk is my destiny.
And believe me when I say,
I am deserving to do it my way!
No one has shed a teardropp from these eyes,
But me!
