No One's There

all alone
fists full of air
scent of loneliness
reaching out for you
no one's there

crouched
coiled
ready to spring
not feeling like yourself
when
you can't feel anything
vulnerable
blinking in the dark
ripe and rotten
inside this coccoon
stare up at the cold, pale moon

floating
on the crystal dream
acrid taste
in this puckered mouth
standing in the headlights
frozen in the fear
all the words flow like water
cannot reach these ears
sick of this losing streak
gossamer wings
shred and tear reaching out for you
no one's there.
