Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fixed eyes.
Tunnel visioned.
To what is left to be right.
In broad daylight.
And within reach to consider,
The benefits existing.
Those benefits to wish,
For a better life to live.
But hypnotized to objectify,
The brightness of bling.
And what having material things,
To one can bring.
With an upscaling of impressions made.

A degrading of morality.
And a humanity that fades.
With kept descriptions to depict,
A blurring to ignore...
The reality of it.
To keep fixed eyes dismissing,
Truth to refuse it and its appearance.
Since delusions to maneuver,
Will bring that grandeur wished.
If kept fixed to objectify,
Visions and the promises of it.
