Obsess

Once again it grips me at last
My obsession is going to take me fast
Gripping me tight, not letting go
Leaving me cold as if in the snow

Fulfill it's wishes and the Demon releases
For now his endless whisper ceases
He is the Demon in my head
Reluctantly, because of my obsesion he is fed.

He never tires, and is seldom broken
Rough to defy the words he has spoken
When I give in to my world
My thoughts are focused and unswirled

Once again it grips me at last
My obsession is going to take me fast
Gripping me tight, hurting me often
Leaving me alone as if in a coffin

For hours and hours I spend
Going crazy over my newfound trend.
In these crowds I try to blend
By the ones I find so dear

But the obsession takes me at last
Knowing my mind is leaving me fast
And at last I know I'm insane
Being a leper on this mortal plane.

I have noticed that you: a) Like rhyming couplets b) Go to great lengths to make rhyming couplets, even if it means forcing them c) Are obsessed with the concept of mortality, since you'ved mentioned it in every poem I've read so far. I think you've got talent, especially to be able to come up with so many rhymes. Don't limit yourself. I think it would do you a lot of good to try something new; a new theme, a new style of writing. Give it a try.
