Ode To Sylvia Plath

Poem By Seán O Muiríosa

Painful star of poetry;
Misery disguised,
Misery unleashed;
Ending in an oven.
Beautiful misery,
Beautiful star,
Guide me.

Plath is one of those roots from which all poets are born..it's nice to be reminded now and again...a lovely tribute my friend. Always, Amberlee
You mix beauty and tragedy so sympathetically, Sean. Good write. And thanks for your comment on 'Your Voice'. Warm regards, Gina.
Sylvia Plath's work is- whether you like it or not- very interesting to dissect. What you do so well is to sum up the duality of her character, the misery, the beauty etc. and you keep it short- hence making real impact. I loved the repetition of words from start to finish. Well done. Daniel
having just read ariel again...and again...not to the oven surely...go buy a bee hive...liked this very much...regards linda
