Of Him I Am Ever In Awe

Poem By Sarah Machalk

As crazy as it may sound,
The love of my life I have already found.
For some it is hard to perceive such a thing,
But when I am with him does my heart ever sing.
He is there to catch me if I ever fall,
of him I am ever in awe.

There are times I know he finds an enigma in me,
because I know there things he may not see.
But I know there will never be any decadence in the love that he shows,
And his compassion and tenderness are what makes our love grow.
He is there to help me whenever I call,
of him I am ever in awe.

The friendship we share is the best I have ever known,
a beautiful tapestry that only God could have sewn.
To me he is a poet, whose poetry comes from his loving heart,
and every sweet word that he says to me is a great epistle of adoration and of art.
He seems to be almost illiterate to my book of many flaws,
of him am I ever in awe.

I know, with him, I will be joyful forever,
like a bluebird that will experience ennui never.
I can spend my life enjoying every moment that we share,
no matter when or where.
In him I see love that no one ever saw
and of him am I ever in awe.
