Oh Jenny, My Dear Jenny

Poem By Gian Carlo Rosete

ONCE AGAIN HE GOES UNNOTICED, AS HE WALK NEXT TO HER
JHENNYS' BEAUTY IS STANDING THERE PRETENDING THAT JACK'S NOT THERE
AND THEN SHE RAMPS WITH THE MODELS ON THAT FASHION SHOW
SHE HAD A BEAUTY THAT'S UNMATCHED AND TONIGHT SHE GLOWS...AGAIN
JACK'S COMPLETELY FALLEN FAST ASLEEP ON THE COUCH
HE HAD AN EMPTY BOTTLE OF BEER ON HIS HAND
HE IS THE PERFDECT PICTURE OF THE TYPICAL BROKEN-HEARTED DRUNK
HE HAD PICKED A CLUE TO A PUZZLE BUT STILL HE NEVER UNDERSTAND
THE GHOST OF THE PAST IS STILL HAUNTING HIM
AND AS HE SLEEP AGAIN, THE GHOST GIVE HIM THE GLIMPSE
DREAMING AND REMINISCING THEIR MEMORIES
MAKE JACK'S HAND A TIGHTLY CLOSED FIST
HE REMEMBER THE MOMENT THAT HE AND JHENNY SHARED
THE DEAFENING SILENCE AS THEY TIGHTLY HUGGED EACH OTHER
THAT TIME, WHEN JHENNY HAD A PROBLEM AND ALMOST CRY
THAT TIME, WHEN JACK'S OBLIVIOUS THAT THIS HUG IS THE LAST
HE KISSED HER TO COMFORT, AND SOMEHOW EASE HER PAIN
BUT THEN JHENNY'S LIPS STILL SEALED IN SILENCE
SHE NEVER SPOKE A SINGLE WORD
SHE NEVER TOLD HIM THE TROUBLE AHEAD
THE MOMENT QUICKLY TURNED AND PASSED
AND THEY WALKED AWAY FROM THE PARK
HE CALLED A TAXI BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING
BUT SHE NOD AND SAID 'LET'S WALK' AND HE NEVER SAW HER CRYING
THE TEARS ARE FALLING ALONG WITH RAINDROPS
AND THE DEAFENING SILENCE HAD NEVER STOPPED
THEY'RE NEAR AT THE CROSSROAD, WHERE THEY'LL TAKE SEPERATE PATH
BUT THEN PROBLEM STILL UNSOLVED AS THEY BID GOODBYE
AND THE NIGHT HIS PHONE RANG AND SAW WHO'S CALLING
HE REALLY GOT NERVOUS AND WONDER WHY HIS HEART RACED FAST
HE PUSHED THE ANSWER BUTTON AND LISTEN AS SHE SPEAK ON THE LINE
'I DON'T LOVE YOU. LET'S STOP THIS. GOODBYE' AND END TONE AFTER THAT
THE PAIN IS REAL; HE FELT IT AS HE THROW THE PHONE FROM HIS HAND
HE CRY, BUT HIS FACE WAS DRY BECAUSE NO TEARS ARE FALLING DOWN
NOW HE SEE THEIR CASTLE BUILT WAS FAKE BECAUSE IT IS MADE IN SAND
AND NOW HE CURSE THE GIRL WHO BROKE HIS HEART, BUT DAMN HE STILL LOVE HER
AND THEN HE SAW A NEW SCENE, AND HE THOUGHT HE'S STILL DREAMING
THE HAND OF JHENNY, OH DEAR JHENNY, CARESS HIS SAD FACE
AS THE MUSIC PLAYS THE SADDEST SONG EVER PLAYED
SHE KISSED HIS LIPS LIKE SHE MEANT IT, BUT HE KNEW SHE REALLY MEANT IT
