Poem Hunter
(16 August 1920 – 9 March 1994 / Andernach)

If we meet and I say, 'Hi,'
That's a salutation.
If you ask me how I feel,
That's a consideration.
If we stop and talk a while,
That's a conversation.
If we understand each other,
That's a communication.
If we argue, scream and fight,
That's an altercation.
If later we apoligize,
That's reconciliation.
If we help each other home,
That's a cooperation.
And all these actions added up
Make Civilization.
(And if I say this is a wonderful poem,
Is that exaggeration?)

Copied this into a journal a decade ago and couldn't find it this morning when I thought about it. Thanks! !
Powerful words. Well done.
the most powerful lines I have had to read, it help you to overcome any problem you will face.
Amid the clouded, alcoholic meanderings of a misguided, overbearing self grandiose mindset and a vain attempt to gather credibility through hedonistic themes… Umm It appears Charles did have a few moments of supreme clarity. Well Done, sir
Two truths in one poem...'there are worse things than being alone' and 'nothing worse than too late' So, too late is worse than being alone...almost contradictory. But, not if it expresses what I WISH for it to convey...there are worse things than being with the wrong person...but nothing...nothing compares to having missed out on the right one.
