Old Age

OLD age is courteous--no one more:
For time after time he knocks at the door,
But nobody says, "Walk in, sir, pray!"
Yet turns he not from the door away,
But lifts the latch, and enters with speed.

Ageing is an inescapable phenomenon for every one and the resultant old age. The advent of old age in one's life, though one is not willing to welcome it, has been superbly narrated in this meaningful and thought provoking short poem.
