On A Mission

Poem By Charlie Parant

grab the bible and the forty-five
it's time to go out preaching
it's a real strange world
and you never know what sort of crazy psycho
might be on the other side of the door
ready to confront you and challenge your beliefs
so you have to protect yourself
because not everyone understands Jesus
and some folks just have to be shown the way

You‘re in my blood.
You’re in my soul.
You are my drug.

Bending Spoons

I often use my mind control
to slowly make a pencil roll
and when I really concentrate
I can break a dinner plate

Shades Of Grey

She paints a picture just for me
with colorful intensity
in hues that never fade away
and paints them all in shades of grey

There’s A Pill For That

Can’t produce tears, take a pill.
Can’t get an erection, soon you will.
Having trouble breathing?
Want to stop sneezing?

Basement Apartment

it was dark, it was small
just a hole in the wall
we could hear all the sounds of the street
but the time that we spent

I’m not afraid of crying
not afraid to make it known
and I’m not afraid of dying
just afraid to live alone
