Be not moaned nor wonder,
by Mirza Beg
If thou art from love forsaken.
He who loves for love’s sake is elder,
He who loves in turn, loves not, nor shaken.
Strong is he who have strength,
But he stronger who can give it away,
Others to strengthen, his to allay.
Love is an ocean and has no length,
Love a flower which falls even on filthy mud to rest,
He, who loves even in turns of disdain, loves the best.
