On The Death Of Margaret Kelleher
In Claraghatlea she raised her family
She had lived there for half a century
And in Claraghatlea her life came to an end
And you could not wish for a better friend.
In Claraghatlea her's was a well known face
And her spirit will always be in that place
For remember it's the body only die
And the soul lives on the soul has wings to fly.
And though from Claraghatlea it may seem she has gone
The soul of Margaret Kelleher living on
In the cottage by Mary O's bog in view of Clara hill
The spirit of the woman living still.
I had known Margaret Kelleher for close to fifty years
And I am not ashamed to say that for her I shed tears
Devoted to her children and to Denis a good wife
And just thinking about her bring good memories back to life
A kind hard working woman she had a 'heart of gold'
In Millstreet she was born and raised and in Millstreet she
Her spirit is alive and well the body only die
The soul lives on forever and the soul has wings to fly.
