On The Run

Poem By Annmarie Fox

On The Run
By Annmarie Fox©

Pack my bags and away I go
I’m having to run he’s told me so
Hurried phone calls talk to friends
Will my running ever end?
He was on the phone threatening to come down
So I’ve packed my bags I’m leaving town
Dead of night I really don’t care
As long as he doesn’t find me hiding there
My bags are loaded its time to go
Where will it stop I really don’t know
Start a new life in a new town
When can I stop running it’s getting me down.
