Once Proud Americans

We beat the British and the Germans and the Japanese
And other great powers we brought them down to their knees,
Now many Americans want a wall, or need to carry a gun
They forgot the pride and the honor that their fathers had won.
They are so afraid of people of different colors and/ or belief
When they see a stranger, they see a murderer or rapist or a thief,
Now many of them have become more like a frightened fawn
Once proud, patriotic Americans, are now afraid of everyone.
