He is not my father-in-law anymore
But, when I need help, he's knocking at my door,
He is always there with his helping hands
Happily proving to me where his morality stands.
Long time ago from a marriage we were kin
On that same road together we had been,
We would celebrate at many happy family gatherings
And sadly, we were together at many sad happenings.
Many years later I got myself a divorce
Which proved to me, that some vows never stay their course,
Once many years ago he was my favorite in-law
In me he never searched for, or even cared about a flaw.
He will always remain a dear and a very close friend
I guess until his, or my bitter end,
They have said that blood is thicker than water
He's that proof, after I divorced his step-daughter.
