One Cotton Nightgown - Winter Version - Christmas 1987
Oh, deck the halls with boughs of holly,
by Robert J. Bartlett
For tis the season to be jolly.
Alas, this season my spouse did reason
That a hot toddy
Must warm her body
If her nightgown's fabric sheer,
Should prove to be so very dear
That it fails to warm her skin,
Thereby, leaving her cold again.
So in deference to your plea,
For something warm to cover thee,
I have reneged on dear tradition,
And bought one gown - as you've been wishin';
So that on cold nights, when the wind doth blow,
And you hear the strains of 'ho, ho, ho, '
You can warm your body
As you drink that toddy,
And deck the halls with boughs of holly!
