Only A Child

She was only six years old,
Always did as she was told.
Her life was in his hands,
Why was he such a cruel man?
She didn't deserve the pain,
She had nothing to gain,
Only pain and sorrow.
No hope for tomorrow.
She prayed every night,
She prayed with all her might,
'Please take away the pain inside.'
She had no confidence, had no pride.
She was scared and confused,
Always hurting, sometimes bruised.
A child from the start,
But he took away her heart.

What a tragedy that this child had to suffer. Thanks for sharing. Kindest regards, Sandra Fowler
