Our Common Need

The young man dashing toward the goal.
An old man tottering on a cane;
The radiant bride eyes filled with joy,
A frail little grandmother, all alone;
The affluent business man, sure of himself,
and the unemployed - no job in sight;
Leader of men, the genius,, the educator,
The man whose language is yet unwritten,
The busy mother, caring for her family,
An inmate wasting behind locked bars;
The athletic hero of the hour
a patient lingering on hospital bed;
you and I
Have one common need;
"Him that cometh to me," He promised,
"I will in no wise cast our."
