Out Of The Blue
to Kristjan Ja: rvi, Conductor of
by Dina D. Meyer
«Vienna Tonku: nstler –Orchester

Black and white. Back and legs.
Arms are like wings. You’re like a bird.
This music’s for Gods who have truly heard
As for me I’d like more, I crave its true face.
Musicians, orchestra, instruments,
Notes, music – stands, what splendid sights!
How sounds are liberated through strings I realize –
The bending of bodies persuades them to surge and fly.
I am submerging…I can hardly believe…
Following you as a guide, I almost disappear
Within the timeless blue space of music.
My blood’s foaming,
I’m dissolving like bubbles of pink champagne.
I open my eyes - the podium. At the desk I see
A magnificent black angel, his ambience around.
All his movements impregnated with oracular beauty.
Vibrating indivisibly with the melody of sounds.
Mercurial, smart, ingenious, dragon -
Your elbows and shoulders are saying.
Impossible, but you did a brilliant half-turn,
You shook your head, candles flashed,
Everything is with one a red-white – blue accord.
Performance: Beethoven, Adams, Sibelius …
Their music will sound for ages, endless.
My Kristian Jarvi, these words are my gratitude.
Because of you I stumble and glimpse Eternity…
Out of the blue…
