Pail Lover

Poem By Lee Martz

My pail white lover
you come down so easy.
You come to please just me.
You slide down you comfort,
you take away the hurt.

I heard the rumor,
that I shouldn't love her.
I was told she might kill,
but she never will.
Though, she makes the earth stand still.

Time moves on in uncomfortable ways.
She takes away the tears,
she doesn't care to hear my shed.
It's better than those who have bled,
just to see the blood.

My sins are heavy, and my burden too.
She is an extra weight, more of her I need
every time my soul bleeds. She grabs-
yes she holds to my soul.
Why do I need more?

Her as my lover, should make me happy.
I know where she leads-
I know what she breeds.
Yet I hold her in my soul,
behind the darkest door.

You will kill me someday.
My secret lover pail and beautiful-
brings me comfort
takes away the hurt.
Dilute my mind and erase my smile.

I am the one who is above the pain,
calm with such disdain.
Hurt by all those who've loved-
I do not want the burden.
I scoff at the mortals for I will live on.

My mind warped and my art not real.
No talent harnessed by I-
yet I am the king of all that surrounds you.
Hazy dream world reality take my away.
Free my soul my love.
