Pass The Biscuits

Poem By Marilyn Lott

Pass the biscuits, Charlie
I know someone baked ‘em up
We’ve been hangin’ round all morning
Waiting with our coffee cup

Everyone’s gathered ‘round
Waiting for some action
And a pan full of biscuits
Will get a great reaction

Kids all sittin’ round as well
Little stomachs growling loud
Is that biscuits over there?
I’ll bet that cook is proud

We’ll get a little music going
Don Edwards is the star
I’m sure those biscuits are cooking
So don’t you go too far

Too tired to make the biscuits?
Oh come on, don’t kid around
I want to smell the freshness
And hear the cookin’ sound

I see a bowl of dough over there
Oh yes, someone’s pulling through
They’ll make pans and pans of biscuits
A plate for me... a plate for you!
