Passing Hours

Poem By Yvonne Philpott

Golden orb on sapphire blue,
Radiant, shot burnished blaze,
Above a field of greener jade
Marks the presence of the days.
Peerless pearl of luster bright
On diamond studded onyx wide,
Haloed in a shimmering light,
Counts the hours of the night.

In timelessness, silent on high
Keep appointed orbits in the sky,
To melt in opalescent west
Gently sinking to their rest.

A Dream Of Long Ago

Last rays of light pierced ruined temple walls,
Exploring cracks, niches, old in age and worn.
Creating visions of those bygone days
Fleeting moments in the probing rays,
