The crackling of leaves fill the air as the wind sighs through the trees,
Speaking to us, about what we know not.
The light cast by the setting sun washes across the ground,
Creating shadows to bear us company as we walk.
As our whispers drift through the air, nearly overtaken by the winds' sighs,
In my hand I hold yours and in yours you hold mine.
Your whispers stop as mine do, our eyes searching for thoughts to speak,
With our minds blank we continue to walk, lost in thought.
In this state of silence we walk,
Tied to the moment, tied like ivy to a fence, tied together in our peace.
