Imagism: A Passing Space

A newborn in it’s nesting place—
Silently I watched from above
As it drew out leisurely to its full length
Like a cowboy stretching saddle cramped legs.
I dare not speak or sigh my sadness,
Considering sounds that might dispel the moment
Like a barking dog that’s been let loose.
