Plant

Small, you lie,
safe in the ground.
Cushioned by Mother Earth,
guarding your gift.
Waiting.

Warmth brings you,
out from your shell.
Eager to explore,
to expand and grow.
Hopeful.

With a strength,
born of youth.
Pushing your way,
into the world.
Sure.

Gifts you are given,
accepted with ease.
Nurture you daily,
feeding your soul.
Innocent.

You open your arms,
sharing your colour.
Beauty in flower,
gentle scent.
Glorious.

Life is not kind,
you cannot be safe.
Nobody looks,
or cares.
Trampled.
