Please Walk Back Into My Dreams

I remember the day so well
I was asleep out on the back porch
the morning haze was just burning off
and there you came into my life and heart

I remember the day so well
I was asleep out on the back porch
the morning haze was just burning off
and there you came into my life and heart

Your life had not been easy or free of burden
your dying father and alcoholic brother
demanded more of your time and energy finally
in an act of desperation, the house burned down

Your scars were not visible as anyone might think
rather they were the inward kind
you were nearly six foot tall, but usually
it didn't seem that way because you slouched

I was thrilled that like the morning songbird
You chose my place to light and find peace
And in doing so brought new life into a man
Who had thought life's pleasures were lost

I would bring your morning tea and we'd sit and listen
to nature's rhapsody played out in the morning sunshine
but that's not all for there were moments when you would
show that hidden side of you that side of deep compassion

You could take my hand and massage it until I felt
life flowing into it once again in such a welcome pace
that was when your inner self would shine brightly
that was when we became so much more

Our love was fueled by our need to breath in
loves bounty when two souls become as one
it was fiercer than copulation ever knew
it was love at its very best and it was here to stay
sigh...

A beautiful love story that snakes through the valleys of hearts of two loving souls. Crafted so beautifully. Thanks for the sharing. 10
