Rest Well Among The Angels (A Tribute Poem To Maya Angelou)
Insight to her world
And all that words can be
Most gracious woman
I lost a love.
Sorting it out in the privacy of my silence
Your strength was certain
Somewhere to turn
My refuge, my family, my friend
Through waves of smoke and destruction,
Men and women who sacrificed all,
Their measure of assurance and commitment,
That Old Glory forever stands tall.
Arlington National Cemetary
In the rolling hills of Arlington
White headstones stand row by row.
A sacred trust—
Bestowed upon these hallowed grounds.
