Porcelaine

Poem By Lex Newman

Locked inside forever
Just a cold pale shell
Smooth and hard
Fragile
Ever-staring eyes.
Crumbling eyelashes.
Blushing cheeks fading.
Red lips cracked and peeling
Old musty lace
Dresses white turned grey
Hands with broken fingers small
Reaching out longingly.
Tipping, teetering on the edge of the shelf
Smashing broken on the floor,
A thousand tiny pieces
The empty shell is broken
Shattered on the floor.
But those dead creepy eyes
Those blank secretive eyes
Those lifeless blackened eyes
Keeping staring silently
Staring into your soul.
