Prairie Life

Poem By Marilyn Lott

I drive down those rusty red roads
Enjoy the country scenes
Nothing could be better
It’s everything that I dream

Cattle in the pasture
Fields for miles I see
Brown and dry prairie grass
And of course and occasional tree

Just roaming cross the country
No need to get in a hurry
Animals feel the same
You never see them scurry

Ah, there is nothing else as good
As the country way to live
Quiet and so peaceful
So much joy it has to give

The prairie has the best
That life has to bestow
I’ll roam that prairie forever
The only place I want to go!
