Prayer For Strength

I do enjoy being heard
Listening to my spoken word
If one terrible day, a choice
My Life or my voice
Such a blessing it is to write
Communicating what I might

If I were to lose my ears
I'm not shedding any tears
I haven't heard your voice in years
The songs that I could write
Should give me musical delight

If I were to go blind
Blind should not be how I'm defined
Braille would get me through my day
So I could say what I may

If I were to lose my arms
I would gather all my charms
That's just the way it goes
I'll have to do my typing with my nose
Or maybe even with my toes
Then go on writing my prose

If I were to lose my brain
And altogether go insane
Without the ability to think or pray
Nothing more to say
Take me Lord Jesus, I obey

i had trouble trying to follow the first stanza. i'm hopeful the poem helps the someone you love. i THINK you are writing about yourself. or are you writing about the other person? favorite lines: That's just the way it goes I'll have to do my typing with my nose Or maybe even with my toes Then go on writing my prose ..................don't try it with your nose when it is 'running'! yuck! ! ! bri ;)
